Artist's Biography

She moved to Southern California and ultimately met Gary, her husband, and they are raising their two children. They have had opportunities to travel, and she chooses the Mediterranean scenery where the light is brilliant and the charming villages are plentiful. <BR>  <BR>  <IMG SRC="./images/10x1pixel.gif">"I confess I only go where the weather is warm and the food is good!" says Liz. "I love to paint architectural scenery and gravitate toward the Mediterranean. My oil paintings are done in a realistic style so you can easily enter the locations via the canvas." <BR>  <BR>  <IMG SRC="./images/10x1pixel.gif">Focusing on the Greek Islands, she found light that is more luminous than any other and where the buildings, drenched in white, are built like sculptures overlooking the blue Aegean. Meander through the narrow streets of the sundrenched villages perched on a hillside. Feel the warmth as the sun radiates from the whitewashed buildings and then drench yourself in the azure sea. <BR>  <BR>  <IMG SRC="./images/10x1pixel.gif">"I like to focus on the geometric design of the Greek architecture and the contrast of light and shadows." <BR>  <BR>  <IMG SRC="./images/10x1pixel.gif">From there the venture to Italy seemed natural, with its Renaissance architecture and legendary waterfronts. Liz has developed a trademark in her portrayal of reflections in the water. <BR>  <BR>  <IMG SRC="./images/10x1pixel.gif">"Finding scenes that have great architecture and water are my favorites. Italy boasts many areas where they meet. In Venice, I gravitate toward the smaller canals, for lack of traffic, and find the reflections of the buildings more alive than they themselves." <BR>  <BR>  <IMG SRC="./images/10x1pixel.gif">The oils allow the irridescence of the sun to radiate right from the canvas and are her medium of choice. <BR>  <BR>  <IMG SRC="./images/10x1pixel.gif">Liz's technical background in drafting and architectural rendering are evident in the detail of her work, though her passion is fine arts and the stunningly beautiful architecture of the Mediterranean villages she visits. She has been successfully painting for a living for 15 years, in which time people from all over the U.S., Canada, and Europe have collected her work. <BR>  </TD> </TR> </TABLE> </BODY>
